HAI keeps up its campaign in solidarity for Somalia

In doing so, the project cost 2.5 million AED spent on more than 100 thousand of the afflicted families and individuals due to the current drought crisis

Concerning the health convoys, HAI has concluded its efforts in running 11 convoys that offered the essentially required medical services in support for the patients especially when the current circumstances of various pandemics in the area are taken into consideration. The campaign that served about 24 thousand people has worked through therapeutic centers supervised by specialists providing the needed therapy despite the huge number of patients bearing in mind that it received all social sectors with intensified care paid for the disabled.

In relation to drilling wells, HAI has finalized the efforts of drilling 5 wells that are 15-20 meters in depth. Further, requirements for withdrawing water from the wells at several populous villages were provided. This act has brought stability and self-sufficiency especially for potable water. To add, the plan has served about 2500 families (10 thousand persons approximately)

In the same respect, HAI has run 3 feeding centers that offer meals for more than 200 children daily for a month. The activity prevailed 20 thousand people suffering from malnutrition, and the displaced in particular

Through its attempts to put an end for the effects of the famine, HAI rushed to provide urgent food parcels for the victims of the famine. Through the plan, the staff has distributed about 7050 parcels benefitting 30 thousand people approximately. It is worth noting that the parcel includes: sugar, cooking oil, flour, legumes; the amount provided is sufficient for a month

In the same context, the UAE has previously launched various relieving campaigns on all levels to back up the afflicted from the drought in Somalia. The Emirati enterprises received international appreciation being considered an entrepreneur in this domain; especially that the country is suffering from wide spread drought for the decline in the rainfall since 2010 which lead to displacing about 3.7 million people searching for food and drink in a way that affected all social sectors and children in particular.
